| I-29 bridge overpass closed in Lincoln County | Damage to an Interstate 29 overpass in Lincoln County has prompted its closure, according to state Transportation Department in Sioux Falls. The structure is located on 284th Street, which crosses I-29 between the Canton and Hurley interchanges 5.5 miles southwest of Worthing. The overpass’ exterior girders were damaged when an unidentified vehicle with an over-height load hit the structure sometime last week, DOT said today. The damaged section must be replaced. The repair project contract will be let later this fall, with completion estimated in late spring 2008. Drivers should use either 285th Street a mile south or go two miles north to 282nd Street to cross the interstate. |
